CFB to Offer Standard (IBM) Procs for the MVS System

The NIH Computer Center's MVS System facilities support the enterprise applications of NIH's administrative and scientific programs. The Computing Facilities Branch (CFB), which operates the NIH Computer Center, has traditionally developed procedures—or "procs"—especially for the NIH computing environment so that these applications would run easily, efficiently and reliably.

In addition to the procs that are specifically tailored to the NIH environment, a number of IBM-provided procs will soon be available for the various software products at the NIH Computer Center. CFB is undertaking this effort so that programmers from other installations will find that they can use the NIH Computer Center with minimal changes.

More information on these standardized procedures will appear in future issues of INTERFACE.
