As a result of consolidating the ITS data center last summer, DCRT has made a major improvement in service to customers of the NIH Computer Center’s MVS North system.

Effective immediately operations coverage for the MVS North system has been expanded to include early morning hours (12:00 A.M. to 6 A.M.), weekends and holidays. North system users can now run batch work requiring operator intervention during these previously unattended hours. Operators are available to handle these functions twenty-four hours each day—with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Output Distribution Schedule

The remote printing and output distribution facility—room 2B-70 of the Parklawn Building—is staffed from 7:00 A.M. through midnight on weekdays. Printouts for jobs processed during hours when this facility is not staffed are held on the various queues to be printed when this facility reopens. Users who need to arrange for weekend printing at the NIH Computer Center should call (301) 594-3278 to make the necessary arrangements.
