Do you have an Oracle application to develop or support? CIT can provide you with three choices for your Oracle environment. All three methods utilize Oracle's Enterprise Server product, a full-featured server.
· Local Oracle Server
If you want to install and maintain your own Oracle server on Windows NT, Sun Solaris or Digital Alpha, you can purchase Oracle concurrent usage rights from CIT at a special rate. We will then provide the server software for your platform, software upgrades for the server, and the Oracle client software.
· Oracle on the Digital AlphaServer
For a monthly fee, CIT can run and maintain an Oracle server environment for you on its Digital AlphaServer 8400. Costs for the concurrent usage rights needed to access the Oracle server are charged on a prorated annual basis rather than having to be purchased. Unlimited Internet access to Oracle data through your web applications is included in this service.
· Oracle on MVS
Use of the Oracle RDBMS running on the NIH Computer Center's MVS North and South systems is charged on a "pay-as-you-go" basis. The cost for CPU utilization and for other resources is billed monthly to your CIT accountwith no extra charge for Oracle concurrent usage rights.
Details about all these Oracle-based services and their costs can be found on the web at http://silk.nih.gov/silk/CIToracle. Online forms allow you to order your Oracle server and usage rights or to set up your Oracle server on the Digital AlphaServer.
