DB2 Production (DSNP) and Data Warehouse (DSNW) Upgrade to Version 8
DB2 Production (DSNP) and Data Warehouse (DSNW) Upgrade to Version 8
CIT is upgrading DB2 to version 8. The final phase of the DB2 development subsystem (DSND) was completed on July 7, 2008. The upgrades of production (DSNP) and data warehouse (DSNW) will be done in two phases: compatibility mode and production mode.
In compatibility mode, the subsystem will be migrated to the new release without new functions for DB2 version 8. Customers should test their applications after this phase to ensure that their applications continue to function properly. Once the upgrade to production mode occurs, fallback to DB2 version 7 will be prohibited.
In production mode the use of new DB2 version 8 functions is allowed.
