DB2 Development (DSND) Upgrade to Version 8
CIT is ready to begin upgrading the DB2 development subsystem (DSND) to DB2 version 8. The upgrade will be done in two phases: compatibility mode and production mode.
DSND will be unavailable during each of these phases. Other DB2 subsystems will not be affected.
Phase 1: Compatibility mode
On Monday, June 16, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., DSND will be migrated to compatibility mode. In compatibility mode, the subsystem will be migrated to the new release without new functions for DB2 version 8.
Customers should test their DSND applications after this phase to ensure that their applications continue to function properly. This testing should be completed by June 26. Once the upgrade to production mode occurs, fallback to DB2 version 7 is not allowed.
Phase 2: Production mode
On Monday, June 30, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., DSND will be upgraded to production mode. Production mode allows the use of new DB2 version 8 functions. Customers should also test their DSND applications after this phase to ensure that their applications continue to function properly.
