Series on South Migration

CIT plans to shut down the South system effective January 12, 2004. Watch two Web sites regularly—Titan/South System News and the Titan Transition. Both Web pages are continually updated.

This is the fourth article in the series on the migration processs—so that you don't miss important news and you do have a smooth transition to Titan. These articles are reprinted from Titan Transition Migration Process Web page.

4. Access NIH Wylbur

General changes

NIH WYLBUR on Titan is slightly different from NIH WYLBUR on the South system. The following are some general changes:

• WYLBUR is available only through TSO (see "Accessing WYLBUR" below).  NIH provides 3270 terminal emulation software (QWS3270 Plus) to access TSO.
• If a command requires a userid, it must be 7 characters (for example, aaaaiii), not $iii nor iii.
• WYLBUR's Enter Mail facility does not exist on Titan -- you can still send mail using the ENTER SENDMAIL command.
• Job names generated by the LIST OFF command begin with WYL instead of your initials.
• Some messages have been changed.

Accessing NIH WYLBUR on Titan

To access NIH WYLBUR on Titan, you must first logon to TSO by selecting the NIHTSO option from the Application Selection screen. This will put you into the ISPF Primary Option menu.

You can use any of the following methods to access NIH WYLBUR:

• Type TSO WYLBUR on any command line within ISPF.
• Type WYLBUR on the ISPF Command screen (option 6 on the ISPF Primary Option Menu).
• Type WYLBUR at the TSO READY prompt.

Using the Break Key

On Titan, WYLBUR uses PA1 and PA2 as break keys. The mapping of these keys varies with the emulator. Check your emulator to see which keys are mapped to PA1 and PA2.   Whether to use the PA1 key or the PA2 key depends on what type of Break you are trying to do.

To interrupt the listing of output:

• Click or press PA1.
• On QWS3270, press Alt-F1 or click the Attention triangle.

To toggle between command and collect modes:

• Click or press PA2.
• On QWS3270, press Alt-F2.

Alternately, you can use WYLBUR's SET BREAK command to define a string that will act as a break key (for example, SET BREAK brk). This SET command can be incorporated into your WYLBUR profile to automatically set the break string for each session.

WYLBUR Commands NOT Available:

The WYLBUR keyword and Enter Mail commands do not work on Titan:

• SHOW KEYWORD
• SET KEYWORD

• SHOW MAIL
• SET MAIL
• MAIL
• RECEIVE

The WYLBUR batch commands or options of commands listed below do not work on Titan and will cause an error:

• SHOW JOBS
• SHOW STATUS

• FETCH options
  • ALL, INPUT, JCL, JOBLOG, OPSMSGS, PUNCH, SYSMSGS, and SYSOUT

• SET BATCH options:
  • DISCOUNT, EXECUTE, and QUICK

• SET JOB options
  • DISCOUNT, NOTIFY, PRIORITY, and QUICK
