Mark Your Calendar for Extended Titan Maintenance Windows
Recently, the NIH Data Center received a new processor (see Titan News article of August 31, 2006), and moving the production Titan mainframe systems to the new IBM z9 BC processor will require an extension of our regular maintenance window. We will schedule a complete service outage of approximately 10 hours from 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday. Currently, no specific date has been chosen yet, but as we progress in our testing, we will be able to schedule the actual date more precisely.
Dates under consideration
In announcing the possible dates for the extended maintenance window here, we hope to make it easier for our customers to plan ahead. The dates being considered are the Sundays, November 5th, November 19th, or December 3rd.
Need help due to conflicting plans or other issue with these dates?
Customers planning major changes or depending on Sunday access to Titan services would be well advised to avoid these dates. When a final date is selected, we will distribute it via Titan News. If you have concerns about any one of these dates, please call the NIH Help Desk at 301-496-HELP (301-496-4357), 866-319-4357 (toll free), or 301-496-8294 (TTY) and ask to speak to a Titan consultant.
