Web SponsorChanges to Be Implemented on January 11
On Sunday, January 11, the OS/390 South system will be decommissioned, and all work, batch, interactive, and database will be performed on Titan. At that time, a new version of Web Sponsor will be installed to accommodate the requirements of both South and Titan customers.
Beginning January 12, 2004, the new Web Sponsor Web site will be
http://websponsor.cit.nih.gov (Titan)
Since that is the current Titan Web Sponsor Web page, users of Titan will not have to make any changes. South system users will still be able to use the South Web Sponsor address [http://silk.nih.gov/sponsor/homepage], but we recommend you bookmark the new address.
Both South system and Titan sponsors will notice changes.
Changes for South System Sponsors
| | Initials which on the South system can be valid for one or more accounts, do not exist on Titan. Instead, each customer on Titan is identified by a USERid, valid for only one account.
|
| | Account input box has been removed from several panels as it is no longer needed (and USERids are valid for only one account) |
| | A new USERid may be from 2 to 7 characters long, but must start with a letter and contain only letters, digits, and $ or # or @.
|
| | Sponsors and Security Officials will be able to "revoke" a USERid, which deactivates it without changing the password. "Restore" USERid will reverse a revocation. |
| | More choices on some Web pagesWeb Sponsor Home, Accounts, and Customerswill be available to accommodate Titan facilities. |
Changes for Titan Sponsors
| | The background color for the Web pages will now be white rather than light cyan. |
| | More choices on some Web pagesWeb Sponsor Home, Accounts, and Customerswill be available to accommodate South system facilities. |
| | USERids are no longer required to begin with a $, and they may be from 2 to 7 characters in length instead of 4. |
