VOLLIST Procedure EnhancementsList All Tape Data Sets
A new version of VOLLIST will be installed August 2, 2004, which includes several enhancements to the VOLLIST procedure. Currently, this procedure lists only the first data set name on each tape. The USERid associated with the data set is the owner of the tape.
With the new version, you will be able to find:
all tape data sets owned by a particular USERid
all tape data sets with a particular string in the data set name,
even though they may be owned by various USERids
all tapes owned by a particular USERid
The list of tapes can be sorted either by volume serial number (the default) or by data set name. In addition, the new version identifies multi-volume tapesthat is, those whose data spans more than one volume.
For complete documentation on the new VOLLIST procedure, see the Titan Batch Processing manual (dated June 15, 2004 or later) available from CITsee the "OS/390 Systems" section, then choose the link for "Batch Processing and JCL" on the publications Web page.
